We’re pleased to announce that we’ve updated our website to make it as accessible as possible for all our readers.

Our new features include:

• A design that should look great on any browser, from traditional browsers to tablets and mobile devices.
• An archive that is now equipped with a site search that allows readers to easily find pieces by their favorite writers. We have all the content categorized now too so that you can browse it by category, i.e. all Fiction.
• An ability to more quickly evolve in the future and add new features and functionality. We are now powered by WordPress, which makes this possible. WordPress is currently the most popular blogging platform on the Internet, powering over 20% of the world’s websites!

For new readers (especially those who are not tech-savvy), here are some hints about how to navigate our website:

• The home page, center column, lists the contents in the current issue (just like a paper magazine’s table of contents.)
• To read a piece, click its title on the home page. Leave a comment at the end of the piece if you are so inspired—authors love that.
• Check out the list of links in the right column on the home page. There you will find categories that cover the business of the magazine, e.g. who we are, how to donate, how to advertise in our Arts Mart. You will also find the Editor’s Page for the current issue and the Archive.  This list of links shows up on every page of the magazine.
• If you’re interested in submitting a piece, click the Submissions link to learn what we require. Also check out the Call for Submissions box on the home page.
• Take time to join Persimmon Tree in the left column of the home page. You’ll get emails (not too many!) when a new issue comes out or we have other announcements.
• You’ll enjoy looking through the Arts Mart. Click it on the home page to see what it offers.
• Explore the Share button that appears on every page. It’s located at the end of each article. Here you can bookmark and share a piece you especially like, e.g. email it to a friend or put a link to it on your Facebook page. It’s a very handy feature!
